Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This policy explains what's OK and what's not when using VirtProxy. It's part of our Terms of Service. By using VirtProxy, you agree to follow this AUP.

1. The short version

Use VirtProxy for legitimate purposes. Don't use it to break the law, harm people, or attack systems. We resell proxies; we don't sell tools for crime. Violate this policy and you'll lose your account.

2. Permitted uses

VirtProxy is designed for, and welcomes, customers running:

  • Web scraping of publicly accessible data, when permitted by the source site's terms
  • Market research — price monitoring, competitive intelligence, ad verification
  • SEO monitoring — checking your own search rankings, analyzing SERPs at scale
  • Geolocation testing — verifying how your site renders or behaves in different countries
  • Social media management — operating multiple accounts on platforms that permit it
  • Academic and journalistic research — data collection for studies, investigations, reporting
  • QA and security testing of systems you own or have permission to test
  • Bypassing geo-restrictions on content you have legal rights to access in your region

These are examples, not an exhaustive list. The pattern: lawful, you-have-permission, not-harming-third-parties.

3. Prohibited activities

You may not use VirtProxy for:

Child exploitation and abuse material. Zero tolerance. We will immediately terminate the account, retain logs, and report to authorities.

Fraud and financial crime. This includes credit card fraud, identity theft, phishing, scam operations, and laundering. Crypto payment isn't a license for crime.

Hacking and unauthorized access. No use of VirtProxy to break into systems, networks, or accounts you don't own and aren't authorized to access. Penetration testing is fine when you have written authorization from the target.

Malware distribution. No spreading viruses, ransomware, trojans, or botnets. No use of VirtProxy to deliver malicious payloads.

DDoS and other attacks. No flooding traffic, no protocol abuse, no resource exhaustion attacks against any system.

Spam. No unsolicited bulk email, no spam comments, no scraping email addresses for spam, no SMS spam.

Harassment and threats. No use of VirtProxy to stalk, threaten, dox, or harass individuals or groups.

Privacy violation. No use to violate GDPR, CCPA, or comparable privacy laws. No scraping personally identifiable information for resale or unauthorized use.

Ad fraud. No click fraud, impression fraud, or other manipulation of ad networks.

Account abuse on third-party platforms. Don't use VirtProxy to create fake accounts on platforms that prohibit it, evade bans, or otherwise abuse platform terms.

Reselling. As stated in our Terms, you may not resell VirtProxy proxies to third parties without written permission.

4. What we see (and don't)

We don't actively monitor the content of your traffic. The proxies relay encrypted traffic between you and the destinations you visit; we don't decrypt TLS connections.

We do see:

  • Connection metadata (when you connect, which proxy you used, total bandwidth)
  • Account-level activity (logins, deposits, orders, support tickets)
  • Aggregate usage patterns

We don't log:

  • The specific URLs you visit
  • The content of your requests or responses
  • Anything that would let us reconstruct your activity in detail

That said, if upstream providers or law enforcement notify us of abuse traced to a specific proxy at a specific time, we cooperate to the extent the law requires.

5. Upstream provider compliance

VirtProxy resells from upstream providers (currently IPRoyal). Your use of our proxies must also comply with their acceptable use policies. If the upstream provider terminates a proxy or range for abuse, we may pass that termination through to your account.

6. Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is misusing VirtProxy proxies, email [email protected]. Include:

  • The proxy IP and port (if known)
  • The approximate time of the abuse
  • A description of what happened
  • Any logs or evidence you can share

We review reports promptly. Legitimate complaints from third parties result in investigation and, where warranted, account suspension.

7. Enforcement

When we detect or are notified of an AUP violation, we may:

  • Warn the account holder
  • Suspend the account pending investigation
  • Terminate the account permanently
  • Retain logs and cooperate with law enforcement
  • Forfeit remaining balance for serious violations

We make these decisions in good faith. We are not required to provide notice for high-severity violations (child exploitation, ongoing fraud, active attacks).
